Membership is free, applications are open all year, and nobody gets turned away for a bad semester. Members get verified hours, a shot at a paid Chamber internship, and a vote on where the Haunted Woods money goes.
You don't have to sign up for everything. Most people start at the top of this list and move down it when they're ready.
90 minutes · No commitment
The lowest-stakes way in. Walk into any council meeting at City Hall, sit wherever, and see whether this is your kind of room. No sign-up, no notice, no pressure to come back.
2 meetings/month · Full member
Full membership: a vote on the docket, a committee seat, verified hours, a shot at a paid Chamber internship, and your name on the projects you help run. This is the one most people are looking for.
3–5 hours · One-off
Not ready to join, but want to be useful? Take a single shift on a pantry sort night, a blood drive or a closet restock. Bring friends, get your hours, go home tired.
Organizations
Businesses, nonprofits and city departments all work with us. We bring prepared, supervised volunteers, host interns, and report back with real numbers once the day is done.
Four steps, about three weeks, and none of them involve an interview.
Step 1
Two minutes. We ask for your name, school, and what you'd want to work on.
Step 2
A committee lead emails you the next meeting date and what to expect.
Step 3
Sit in, meet people, pick a committee. Still no commitment at this point.
Step 4
Seated at the next council vote. Hours start counting from your first build day.
$0
Membership, materials, transportation to build sites, and event food are covered by the council's city budget and our sponsors. If a trip ever carries a cost, scholarships exist and nobody has to ask twice.
